A briefer-than-brief write up today, as, well… basically…. I barely watched a shot from the “Snake Pit” this week. I watched more golf at the Steyn City Championship just outside Jo’burg on the DP world tour to be honest, even though I didn’t see much of that either.
Anyway… we’re back on the European tour this week, in Qatar, but for now, a few pointers as to what we learned from The Valspar Championship in 2022.
- Sam Burns clearly LOVES Copperhead, as he has now won the last two runs here.
- Davis Riley is DEFINITELY one to watch. Perhaps even more so than his more famous (at present) stable mate, Will Zalatoris?
- Sahith Theegala is having the season of his dreams right now. But will it last?
- Matt Fitzpatrick is bubbling under still… but can he win?
- Charley Hoffman likes Copperhead too.. but not this year. One might assume the Saudi tour fallout which has done for lefty, also has left the hoff with a really bad reputation and his golf is suffering now.
